ABOUT THE COURSE

This presentation covers the most common TMD problems and questions that dentists ask Dr. Wright. He will discuss tooth pain that is caused by TMD pain, TMD pain that is caused by tooth pain, how to prevent an aggravation of a patient's TMD symptoms while providing dental treatment, various splint therapy recommendations, and how he uses the patient's daily TMD symptom pattern to decide which treatment to provide.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Edward F. Wright, D.D.S., M.S., received his dental degree from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio in 1977.  He continued his postgraduate training in an Advanced Clinical Dentistry Program in 1988 at Eglin Air Force Base, and in 1994 he attained his MS degree and completed a TMJ and Orofacial Pain Program at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Dr. Wright is currently a Professor in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.  He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain and the primary author of over 30 journal articles.
