ABOUT THE COURSE

OVERVIEW
After this presentation attendees should understand rationale behind alveolar ridge preservation, different techniques and materials that are available to clinicians, and potential treatment outcomes that may result from the use of specific materials and techniques. Techniques and materials will be demonstrated using multiple case presentations.

OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course, the attendee should understand:

  • Review of literature supporting alveolar ridge preservation
  • Review of materials available for alveolar ridge preservation
  • Review of clinical research comparing various materials and their impact on implant dentistry
  • Case Presentation and Discussion of Various Materials and Techniques

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Tyler D. Borg, D.D.S., obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree and served as Student Body President from the University of Colorado. Dr. Borg, currently a third year Graduate Periodontics Resident at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, conducts clinical research in Alveolar Ridge Preservation. He is originally from Denver, Colorado where he attended Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado and then Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was a member of the Men’s Swimming Team and obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Science with Honors. He currently lives in San Antonio, Texas with his wife, Dr. Jenna Borg who practices general dentistry.
